Jiyoon Lee

Ji Yoon Lee is a Korean multidisciplinary artist based in Edinburgh, Scotland. She received an MFA from the Glasgow School of Art, Glasgow, Scotland, and BA in Fine Art from Dongguk University in Seoul, South Korea. Ji yoon is a licensed studio holder at Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop in Edinburgh. Her work stems from an observation of how digital colonialism impacts our bodies. Through her practice, she is exploring the tension between physical reality and the virtual, as well as the profound sense of absence where something is missing.

In 2023, she was invited as a guest artist for the GoMA Youth Group’s summer programme at the Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA) in Glasgow. She was also commissioned by the Glasgow School of Art’s Creative Network for the 2024 New Year’s card. Recent exhibitions include, The Tread That Pulls, The Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh (2025), Time, Touch, Tactility, Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop (2025), Kindred in a Foreign Land, Kings Hall, Edinburgh (2025), Record+Reconstruct, Umgallery, South Korea (2024), Chroma glow, Salt space (2023), Old contemporaries, Generator projects, Dundee (2023).

이지윤(1992년생, 대한민국)은 스코틀랜드 에딘버러에 거주하는 예술가이다. 글래스고 예술 대학 (MFA 과정)과 동국대학교 미술학과를 졸업했다. 현재 에딘버러에 위치한 예술기관인 Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop에 소속된 스튜디오 입주작가이다. 그녀의 작업은 디지털 식민주의가 우리의 신체와 감각에 미치는 영향에 대한 관찰에서 출발한다. 이를 바탕으로 물리적 현실과 가상 세계 사이의 긴장 관계를 탐구하며, 동시에 부재와 결핍이 만들어내는 감각과 정서에 주목한다.

2023년에는 글래스고 현대미술관(Gallery of Modern Art, GoMA) 청소년 그룹의 여름 프로그램에 초청 작가로 참여했으며, 2024년에는 글래스고 예술학교 크리에이티브 네트워크(Creative Network)의 신년 카드 제작을 의뢰받아 작업하였다. 최근 전시로는 The Tread That Pulls (2025, 로열 스코티시 아카데미, 에든버러), Time, Touch, Tactility (2025, 에든버러 조각 워크숍), Kindred in a Foreign Land (2025, 킹스 홀, 에든버러), Record+Reconstruct (2024, 움갤러리, 대한민국), Chroma Glow (2023, 솔트 스페이스), Old Contemporaries (2023, 제너레이터 프로젝트, 던디) 등이 있으며, 영국 에딘버러를 중심으로 활동중이다.
